Along with personnel, many non-mandated programs are at risk of being cut. These programs are very important for attracting to and retaining families in our district. Large class sizes will not attract families to our communities.

Our three communities don’t have the same commercial tax base or federal funding as neighboring districts so it is up to our community to fund our schools.

The Education Fund Rate ($1.84) has not been raised in 25 years. Our district has been in existence since 1954, and the Education Fund Rate hasn’t increased by popular vote since 1964 – over 50 years ago.

The proposed Education Fund Referendum would increase the rate from 1.84 to 2.34, which is very comparable to similar surrounding school districts and would still place Triad’s Ed Fund rate in the bottom half.


Why?
Triad, by law, can not operate with a deficit. Major cuts will have to be made.
